2.00 – 6.00 pm
“Country Flowers for Country Churches”
The Flower Festival will be held at St James’ Church, Colesbourne. The theme for the festival is “Country Flowers for Country Churches” and our talented local flower arrangers have plenty of scope to create some imaginative and original flower displays. The beautifully embroidered altar frontals will also be on view.
The Flower Festival will be open from 2.00 – 6.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, 14 & 15 July 2018, concluding on Sunday with a Festival Evensong at 6.30 pm at which visitors would be most welcome.
As well as the lovely arrangements there will be three flower arranging demonstrations each afternoon to inspire visitors to create their own floral displays. Flower arranging equipment will be on sale too.
The gardens and arboretum of Colesbourne Park, including the famous “blue lake”, will also be open for visitors to wander around to enjoy the beautiful peaceful rural setting of St James’ church.
There will be delicious homemade strawberry cream teas served in the Long Room of Colesbourne Park together with a cake stall, a second hand book stall and a bric-a-brac stall too.
Admission to the Flower Festival is free, but there will be charge for the tea and for the demonstrations. There will be plenty of free parking available too. All proceeds to the St James’ Nave Roof Fund.
